Agency Executives Association

Why We Do This

We believe strong leadership is essential in the delivery of services, especially in the areas of Education, Income and Wellness. This is why we are proud to provide staff support to the United Way Agency Executives Association, a self-directed group of over 100 chief executive officers. Please join!

Eligibility

Membership in the Agency Executives Association (AEA) is open to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of nonprofits receiving any funding (including donor directed funding) through the United Way of Buffalo & Erie County.

Mission

To enhance the quality of life in Western New York by creating and sustaining a network of agency executives who work together to build the capacities of the organizations they manage. This is accomplished through networking, information sharing, learning, skill building, advocacy on issues and collaboration opportunities for its members.

Goals

• To continually improve delivery of human services in Western New York.
• To keep CEOs apprised of relevant, current, and emerging trends affecting not-for-profits.
• To share thoughts and ideas on common concerns and work collaboratively to respond to important issues.
• To create opportunities for accessing and sharing resources among agencies.

Highlights

• Membership meetings with expert presenters and panelists on topics of current interest. These membership meetings also offer informal networking, which in turn often leads to critical information and opportunities for collaboration.
• The CEO Leadership Forum Peer Learning Network for CEOs is a customized peer-learning network that provides collaborative learning opportunities, personal executive development and ongoing support. It helps participants to address pertinent issues and enhance leadership competency.
• The CEO Leadership Forum Leadership Development Program for Staff helps nonprofit staff with leadership potential as identified and recommended by their CEO. Based around the concept of peer learning, the diverse nature of the group contributes to the learning process.
