Volunteers and Interns
Why We Do This
People need help, and people want to help. Our core strategies are Give, Advocate and Volunteer. We seek to connect more people with your volunteer opportunities.
Post Your Volunteer Opportunities
Through our Volunteer Solutions website, over 100 nonprofits post their volunteer opportunities. To do so, click here.
Interns and Class Projects
We have placed 252 college students in unpaid internships and class projects with 46 nonprofits, in areas such as accounting, human resources, information systems, marketing, marketing research, program evaluation and strategic planning. To participate, please e-mail your needs to nfprc@uwbec.org. If we receive applications from students in your area of need, we will e-mail you the information. To have a chance at recruiting the student, you should contact the student immediately, because students look at multiple opportunities.
Volunteer Blitzes
Our most prominent multiple volunteer opportunity is the Day of Caring, which has been held every August. Groups of at least 10 volunteers, from area companies, clean up grounds, paint, landscape, build playgrounds, take kids on outings, and similar projects in an intensive day. We are compiling projects now for Day of Caring. As well, sometimes companies would like to do projects on other days. Please describe your project in a paragraph or two to nfprc@uwbec.org.
